DESCRIPTION:
CM house is a renovation of a small villa of the 70ies on top of a hill facing the lake region 30 km north to Milan. The old building is totally devoid of quality, so it was decided not to have any kind of relationship except with those things that are unavoidable of the building, that is the perimeter and the two structural lines. In the inner space of the top floor the shape is free, leaving space for four generous panoramic terraces, and is conditioned only by some “typological resistances” generated by the kitchen, the stairs, the bedroom and the bathroom. The structural needs have suggested keeping the two pillar lines in the middle, which have become the two generating lines of the roof folds. On the first floor a stove covered with majolica handmade tiles stand in the middle of the open spaces.
